Chill Will
Chill Will
Chill Will, one of the hottest DJ's in the Midwest, has been putting it down since the late 70's. At the age of eleven Chill Will was learning the art of DJing from his cousin DJ Robbie Rob in Hempstead, New York. After summers of on the job training Chill Will brought back what he learned to Michigan. He started DJing talent shows, middle and high school parties, and fraternity and sorority gigs through out Michigan. Chill Will then landed guest spots and a residency at one of Detroit's most famous Hip Hop spots, Saint Andrews Hall.

Then college radio came calling first with WJJX A.M. then WCBN F.M. at the University of Michigan. While at WJJX Chill Will was apart of the record review staff and a sub for on-air staff. When WJJX closed in 1987 Chill Will moved over to WCBN("88") as a mixer for a Hip Hop show called "The Prop Shop." Chill Will continued to be the mixer for the show until '94 when he took over and started to host the show with partner Big Rich. "The Prop Shop" became one of the most popular Hip Hop shows on the internet and radio in Southeastern Michigan. With the growing popularity of the show Chill Will was promoted to Urban/HipHop Music Director, and made WCBN a major player in college radio and the Hip Hop community. With his growing success in college radio, Chill Will made the transition to commercial radio in 2004. He began with mixshows at Hot 97-3 in Toledo, Ohio and several other Hip Hop and satellite radio stations.

Not only is he a radio show host, and Music Director with the longest running Hip hop show in the Mid West, Chill Will has DJed for Lengendary Hip Hop artists Brand Nubian and X-Clan, Mixed at the North American International Auto Show for Scion, and is a highly sought after DJ for celebrity after parties and events. Chill Will has DJed parties for some of the hottest acts in Hip Hop and R&B like The Fugee's, A Tribe Called Quest, Tank,Doug E Fresh, Jadakiss, Eminem, D-12, Trick Trick, Lil Flip, Juvenile, G-unit, and Ludacris to name a few.

Over the years Chill Will has rocked crowds with The Source College Tour and fashion shows for Mecca, Karl Kani, Sean John, Pelle Pelle, Ecko Unltd and Phat Farm. Chill Will has brought home consecutive awards for best radio DJ at a college or community station in 2005 and 2006. He's also been featured in various magazines and news papers, such as The Source, Rap Pages, Hits, Gavin, CMJ, Impact, Underground Soundz, Urban Network, Rapattacklives, and the Detroit News.

Chill Will constantly stays busy as a DJ. He never losses sight of where he has come from and always manages to make time to volunteer and give his time to the kids at the James "Lights Out" Toney Amateur Boxing Tournament every summer. So don't be surprised if you turn on your radio and catch Chill Will in the mix, or show up to an exclusive party and see him DJing. DJ Chill Will is one of the hottest DJ's in the Midwest.
