Chill Will, one of the hottest DJ's in the Midwest, has been putting it down since the late 70's. At the age of eleven Chill Will was learning the art of DJing from his cousin DJ Robbie Rob in Hempstead, New York. After summers of on the job training Chill Will brought back what he learned to Michigan. He started DJing talent shows, middle and high school parties, and fraternity and sorority gigs through out Michigan. Chill Will then landed guest spots and a residency at one of Detroit's most famous Hip Hop spots, Saint Andrews Hall.
Then college radio came calling first with WJJX A.M. then WCBN F.M. at the University of Michigan. While at WJJX Chill Will was apart of the record review staff and a sub for on-air staff. When WJJX closed in 1987 Chill Will moved over to WCBN("88") as a mixer for a Hip Hop show called "The Prop Shop." Chill Will continued to be the mixer for the show until '94 when he took over and started to host the show with partner Big Rich. "The Prop Shop" became one of the most popular Hip Hop shows on the internet and radio in Southeastern Michigan. With the growing popularity of the show Chill Will was promoted to Urban/HipHop Music Director, and made WCBN a major player in college radio and the Hip Hop community. With his growing success in college radio, Chill Will made the transition to commercial radio in 2004. He began with mixshows at Hot 97-3 in Toledo, Ohio and several other Hip Hop and satellite radio stations.
