Recognized as the most diverse and technically skilled female DJ in the world, DJ Shortee's esteemed 15 year career is highlighted by an unparalleled series of firsts. Playboy's official 50th Anniversary Tour DJ, Shortee is the only female to be a 'Power Mixer' on Power 106 FM in Los Angeles, first female to produce an instructional DJ DVD series, only female to produce a turntablist album, first female to produce a battle record and the first female DJ to be endorsed by Shure, Rane/Serato and Cakewalk. Named "Queen of the Scratch World" by DJ Times and ranked the 1 female Turntablist/Hip Hop DJ worldwide, Shortee has been described as the "World’s Premier Female DJ" by the Grammy Foundation.

URB Magazine's, Next 100 in 2001 and the first female Fever/Buzz Battle of the DJs Champion in 1997, Shortee spins an eclectic mix of Hip Hop, Top 40, Mashup, Drum & Bass, Breaks, Funk, Soul, Rock, House and Electro. A force to be reckoned with, her unique contribution to the art of scratching and beat juggling earned her a spot as the only female DJ featured in Doug Pray's critically acclaimed movie "SCRATCH". Aside from being featured in an array of documentaries, Shortee has made several TV appearances including NBC's "Hip Hop Nation", MTV's "Date My Mom", the Tyra Banks Show, and a celebrity cameo in a Sony PSP commercial.

Making her production debut in 1998, Shortee appeared on Faust's critically lauded "Man or Myth" (first turntablist album ever released). The following year, Shortee's full length solo debut "The Dreamer" became the first and only turntablist album produced by a female. Shortee has since produced multiple albums, singles, eps, battle records, remixes, appeared on numerous compilations and released a jaw dropping 36 mix tapes. Some of her critically acclaimed releases include "Mashed" (Hip Hop, Rock, 80's, Mashup), "Jungle Story Album Mix" Easy Records (Drum & Bass), "Bikini Wax" (1st female battle record), "Filtered" (Electro House, Breaks), and her well known multi-genre "Playboy 50th Anniversary Tour" series.

To date, Shortee's music has attracted licensing features airing on networks worldwide such as NBC, ESPN, MTV, and HBO to name a few. As one half of the group "Faust & Shortee" (aka Urban Assault), together they have launched two record labels: 5 Star Records (Hip Hop/DJ Tools) and Heavy Artillery Recordings (Electro House/Breaks/Drum & Bass). The duo’s "Drumcircle" was the theme song for MTV Sports Unlimited Access and their remix of India Irie's "Shine" was the theme song for The Tyra Banks Show. In 2008, their tune "Away" was nominated for best jungle/dnb track at the International Dance Music Awards. Head professor at The Scratch DJ Academy co-founded by RUN DMC's Jam Master Jay, Shortee also teaches DJ/Remix courses for the esteemed Grammy Foundation. In addition to creating her own DVD series Shortee’s DJ 101, Shortee's DJ 202, and Turntable Tune-up, she has created 15+ DJ instructional videos for the Grammy Foundation titled "Shortee's DJ Sessions", and also taught DJ workshops for LA's SAE Institute, Channel One News, and Sprite.

Considered by many to be the best female DJ in the world based on her skills, there aren't many DJ's that are respected across all genres of music as DJ Shortee. Well known for performing at high profile events for Playboy, New Line Cinemas, Tiffany & Co., Sprite, Frito Lay, and Activision, Shortee’s skills have earned her acclaim in countless publications including Rolling Stone, Spin, DJ Times, URB, and Remix. When Shortee is not traveling the globe doing product demonstrations for Rane, Serato, Pioneer or Cakewalk at notable trade shows including The NAMM Show, Musikmesse, and Remix Hotel, she continues to perform at mega clubs and festivals worldwide in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Middle East & Asia. Shortee has toured alongside world-class artists such as KRS One, Supernatural, Method Man, Craze, Q-bert, Z-Trip and The Roots among others.
